FORMULASI DAN UJI STABILITAS FISIK KRIM BODY SCRUB KOMBINASI GAMBIR DENGAN ASAM ASKORBAT
ABSTRAK
Body scrub adalah sediaan kosmetik yang berfungsi untuk mengoleskan butir-butiran kasar ke permukaan kulit sehingga dapat mengangkat sel-sel kulit mati pada kulit, body scrub juga berfungsi untuk mengencangkan kulit dan mencerahkan kulit. Zat aktif yang digunakan dalam pembuatan krim body scrub ini adalah kombinasi gambir dengan asam askorbat, katekin dari gambir mampu menangkal radikal bebas namun memiliki sifat tidak stabil selama penyimpanan, ketidakstabilan tersebut dapat diatasi menggunakan asam askorbat serta efektif mengatasi radikal bebas penyebab kerusakan sel pada kulit. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bahwa gambir yang dikombinasi dengan asam askorbat dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan krim body scrub yang memenuhi persyaratan, mengetahui stabilitas fisik sediaan krim body scrub dari kombinasi gambir dengan asam askorbat. Formula krim body scrub dibuat dengan variasi gambir dan asam askorbat dengan konsentrasi F1 (1% : 0,1%), F2 (3% : 0,3%) dan F3 (5% : 0,5%). Evaluasi sediaan meliputi uji organoleptis, homogenitas, uji pH, daya sebar dan pengujian viskositas serta dilakukan uji stabilitas fisik menggunakan metode cycling test. Dari keempat formula menghasilkan sediaan krim body scrub dengan bentuk semi solid, F0 berwarna putih, F1 berwarna lemon chiffon, F2 berwarna navajo white dan F3 berwarna dark goldenrod serta memiliki bau oleum rosae. Hasil uji cycling test dengan 3 pengulangan pada pH 5,02 – 5,40, daya sebar 5,2 – 5,7 cm dan viskositas 13.355 – 17.969 mPa.s. Kesimpulan kombinasi gambir dengan asam askorbat dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan krim body scrub yang memenuhi syarat fisik dan hasil stabilitas fisik dengan metode cycling test sediaan krim body scrub kombinasi gambir dengan asam askorbat stabil dalam penyimpanan selama 6 siklus.

FORMULATION AND PHYSICAL STABILITY TEST OF BODY SCRUB CREAM COMBINATION OF GAMBIR WITH ASCORBIC ACID
ABSTRACT
Body scrub is a cosmetic preparation that serves to apply coarse grains to the surface of the skin so as to remove dead skin cells on the skin, body scrub also serves to tighten the skin and brighten the skin. The active substance used in making this body scrub cream is a combination of gambir with ascorbic acid, catechins from gambir are able to ward off free radicals but have unstable properties during storage, this instability can be overcome using ascorbic acid and effectively overcome free radicals that cause cell damage to the skin. The purpose of this study was to determine that gambir combined with ascorbic acid can be formulated into a body scrub cream preparation that meets the requirements, determine the physical stability of body scrub cream preparations from the combination of gambir with ascorbic acid. The body scrub cream formula was made with variations of gambir and ascorbic acid with concentrations of F1 (1%: 0.1%), F2 (3%: 0.3%) and F3 (5%: 0.5%). Evaluation of the preparation includes organoleptic test, homogeneity, pH test, spreadability and viscosity testing and physical stability testing using the cycling test method. The four formulas produce body scrub cream preparations with a semi-solid form, F0 is white, F1 is lemon chiffon, F2 is navajo white and F3 is dark goldenrod and has an odor of oleum rosae. Cycling test results with 3 repetitions at pH 5.02 - 5.40, spreadability 5.2 - 5.7 cm and viscosity 13,355 - 17,969 mPa.s. In conclusion, the combination of gambier with ascorbic acid can be formulated into a body scrub cream preparation that meets the physical requirements and the results of physical stability with the cycling test method of gambier body scrub cream preparation with ascorbic acid are stable in storage for 6 cycles.
